China and South Africa signed 930 million dollar cooperation agreement

"China-South Africa Trade Conference and signing ceremony", 27th in Johannesburg, enterprises of the two countries signed 23 cooperation agreements, contracts valued at $ 930 million.

The companies in the economic and trade exchanges by the Chinese Ministry of Commerce and the South Africa sponsored by the Department of trade and industry, China External Trade Development Council and South Africa jointly hosted a trade and investment promotion Commission. Activities to meet the forthcoming Johannesburg Summit of the China-Africa cooperation forum, to further expand China and South Africa bilateral economic and trade exchanges and the balanced development of bilateral trade.

Lu Xun, Deputy Director of the China's Ministry of Commerce's Foreign Trade Division said that economic and trade cooperation has been developing rapidly in recent years, South Africa is the world's 20th largest trading partner of China in Africa's largest trading partner and largest export destination and import source countries. Enterprises of the two countries should make full use of the docking platform to deepen mutual understanding, to seek cooperation opportunities, expand cooperation in more fields.

South Africa Strachan, Deputy Director of the Industrial Development Division of the Department of trade and industry, said China is South Africa one of the most important trade partners, in the context of slowing global economic growth, both countries should work closely together. He said South Africa hoped that in the future in cooperation with China to increase exports of high value-added goods.

In the South the cooperation agreements signed by enterprises of the two countries a total of iron and steel, energy, medicine, wine, fruit, seafood, textiles and many other products. After the meeting, the enterprises of the two sides engaged in a productive business communication, and visited South Africa in export processing and manufacturing companies.
